Anne is an author, spiritual director, social worker and retreat leader. She resides in Washington, DC. She offers training seminars and consultation on family of origin, conflict resolution, communication skills, family spirituality, and contemplative spirituality. Anne serves on the boards of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Leighton Ford Ministries and Amistad Mission. She is co-founder of chapters of Women of Vision in Houston and DC.
Anne received her B.S. (graduating Magna Cum Laude) from Harvard College with a concentration in Psychology and Social Relations. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and received a Radcliffe research grant award. She received her M.S. from Columbia University School of Social Work (with a focus on Health/Mental Health) and her Post Masters Certificate from Hunter College of New York (Advanced Clinical Social Work, Family Therapy). She has completed training with Shalem Institute as a group spiritual director. Anne is a member of the American Family Therapy Association, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and National Association of Social Workers.
Anne has authored three books, contributed to two books, and
been a featured speaker on national television including: “Oprah”, “Straight
Talk”, “Donahue”, “Sonya Live from L.A.”, “Hour Magazine”, and “Connie
Martinson Talks Books”. She has been interviewed on morning and
afternoon talk shows or news spots across the country.
Anne has served as a consultant with Baylor College of Medicine at Star of Hope. She has been an Intervarsity campus fellowship speaker and taught for the Community of Hope lay chaplaincy program and the Catholic Family Life Ministry. She has taught at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Institute for Better Relationships and served on the faculty of the Family Institute of the Family Service Center.
Anne is married to J. David Grizzle and they have three sons: Benjamin, Joshua, and Andrew. She enjoys exploring God’s beauty in nature and writing poetry.
